De Belevingswaarde van Musea – grant application

Currently, the Crossmedia research group of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences is working on a new grant application, called ‘De Belevingswaarde van Musea’. In this project, we want to further investigate how the concept and design of an exhibition influences visitors’ experiences and behaviour. As in Designing ExperienceScapes (our current project), museums will be monitored who are in the process of creating a new exhibition. We are specifically interested in case studies that have a cross medial implementation in the design of the exhibition. The expectations that these museums have with regard to the visitor experience will be gathered and hold against the actual experience and behaviour of visitors who are in the exhibitions. Additionally, we will experiment with new technologies – such as Virtual Reality – to see how visitors react upon such new ways of communication. Lastly, we will also focus on visitor profiles to better understand what type of visitors prefer what type of exhibition.

The deadline for submission is September 15, 2015, which means that the research group is currently working on the final programme. If you wish to know more about this project, please look at this file or contact either Harry van Vliet or Bernadette Schrandt.
